The judges present at shows in a foreign country have to follow some specific elements on Blond breeding in the different countries.
The most important rule for judging will still be the agreed specific characteristics for Blond cattle.
In general the ranking of the elements for judging Blond cattle are
- The animal must be a true Blonde d’Aquitaine
- Length and depth of the body
- Length, width and inclination of the pelvis
- Length of the back, with a good top line.
- Elegance of the animal
- Finesse of bones and skin
- Expression of the head
- Colour of the skin
- Good design of the muscles
- All animals must be presented only with short hairs, no brush up.
General rules for the judges
- Be sure to be dressed uniformly.
- Be sure to be dressed correctly.
- Try to work accurate.
- Stay to your work of judging. Try to avoid conversation with the breeders as it may look biased.
- Be sure to take notice of the specific wishes of the country you are judging in.
- Make sure that your ranking is always the same. If you look from behind of the animals, number one in the group should be placed on the left-hand side.
- Ask the organisation if there is something not completely clear.
- Try to give your comments brief and clear to understand.
- Be sure to judge all sections on the same way, with key-points that will be all the same in all sections.
